Today I decided to screw my 'money woes' and splurged on a couple of art books. One of them was a great book on drawing and painting hands and feet. But instead of starting at the beginning, I just went right into practicing feet walking, and as I've recently been injected with motivation to work on my proyect titled "The Good Guys", I decided to paint the main character, Eden.
Now, what I really enjoyed about this one was that I painted it using coffee. I like the gentle brown hue it gave the picture, and I achieved a nice earth-tone scheme by mixing watercolor paints and pencils into the coffee. And now the picture smells really nice, too.
The drawing itself was done on a 11" x 17" sheet, so it was really big, and I had to scan it like 6 times and copy-paste it all together. Very frustrating. I'm very happy with it... but feel free to criticize it if you want.
Coffee...Hmmm....I Like drawing.....and coffee.....Hmmm....Maybe I will try that later....
Looks really nice!!! I envy the way you use watercolors, Im still learnig my self to use them .
Dude, there is nothing to envy. What you're looking at is the result of letting go. Here's what I read today in the book that gave me the idea to use coffee to paint:
"If painting (or any other form of art for that matter) ceases to be experimental then its very purpose is lost. [...} Spelling and arithmetic may be rule-following subjects, but the arts are not." (Robert E. Fairley)

Ooh, coffee! The brown tint is very nice :3 gives the picture kind of a nostalgic feel... great job ^.^ Hmm, you did a real good job pasting it together after scanning, too; you can't tell from the picture. (I shy away from paper larger from 9x12 for that very reason... my scanner is stupid, too, so the colors in the different pieces wouldn't likely match )
Thank you. Heh, at first the pieces didn't match, but that's what those automatic adjustment levels in PS are for... I think. o_o I honestly don't get why PS is so obscenely over-priced.

This is absolutely lovely! The coffee looks great here as well, and you matched the tones together so well. You really acheived the look of walking quite well. I'm very impressed with the feet because they are VERY tricky to draw. The coloring on this looks so smooth and professional~!
You are rigth if it was'nt fun I woud be doing something else. Thats why Im trying watercolors because I started to miss the fun and makin a mess (making a mess sometimes can be realy relaxing)
